Erin + Nick

Erin and Nick were never supposed to find me. Erin actually saw another planner’s post on Instagram and accidentally reached out to me instead.

But, as we all know, everything happens for a reason and I was so thankful for that happy accident. I LOVED planning this wedding! Erin’s style is so classic and timeless.

I’ll admit, upon our first meeting, I was shaking in my boots. Erin and Nick explained to me that we had about 3 months to throw together this wedding. They had a venue and Erin had a dress. Beyond that, we didn’t have much! Y’all know I love challenge. I’ve always bragged to my friends that I could plan my wedding completely in about 2 days. Now was my time to put my money where my mouth way. READY. SET. PLAN.

Every native Houstonian knows that March is anyone’s guess when it comes to weather on any given day. For this particular wedding, the day before and day after were filled with rain and cold. But somehow, by the grace of God, March 29th 2019 was perfect weather. I’LL TAKE IT, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

McGovern Centennial Gardens in the center of the Houston Museum District provided the best backdrop with both the serenity of a secret garden and the proximity to Central Houston.

Erin and her bridesmaids prepared for the day down the street at the beautiful Hotel Zaza. The best sister location to the gardens if you’re looking for a solid ready room location.

While planning for the day, Erin told me she wanted her centerpieces to reflect nature. Every table should be uniquely different as she told me, “nature isn’t perfect”

We chose a carefully curated mix of pepper berry greens along with Japanese sweet peas, white Majolika spray roses, lisianthus, and light pink heather sprouts alongside antique gold mercury glass terrariums and votives.

If you’re looking for an oasis of nature smack dab in the center of the city, I recommend McGovern Centennial Gardens.

But don’t take my word for it, see and love how amazingly it photographs.
