Erica + Lejoy

On rare and special occasions, I have the honor and pleasure of helping friends plan their weddings. It’s usually more often the case that I’m meeting a bride and groom for the first time a few months before their wedding. But in the case of LJ and Erica, I was able to reminisce on their first few months of flirtation and puppy love when I watched from my “planner perch” as she walked down the aisle to her groom.  How lucky to be able to watch as a love story comes full circle! That just made this wedding all the more fun for me.

LJ and Erica chose The Bell Tower on 34th in Houston, Texas as their venue. The elegant yet subtle Tuscan architecture created the perfect backdrop for their ceremony and reception.

Erica walked down a custom printed aisle runner as a cello and violin duo played the ever-traditional Bridal March by Richard Wagner with LJ, of course, waiting at the head of the aisle all smiles. She carried a cascading bouquet of White Phalaenopsis Orchids and donned newly-gifted white Christian Louboutin Stilettos; a wedding day present from her groom.

One of the most unique and special things about this wedding was the inclusion of both of their family’s traditions and cultures. It’s often a delicate dance during a wedding celebration to make sure that each family’s traditions are not forgotten.  LJ and Erica did such a good job mixing his ancient Indian traditions with her beautiful and fun Mexican heritage. It is so great to be reminded sometimes that no matter how different we all seem on the outside, love and commitment to one another transcends all borders.

The entire day was such a beautiful representation of the effortless blending of two families and I was so honored to have been a part of it!
